Mirror
Who's that staring at me?I see nothing but hate and destruction in her eyes.
She follows my every move with out so much as a blink.
I lie awake at night, fearing that she will appear,
For her mocking smile, the false innocence, is practically iridescent in the dark of night.
When she finally reaches for me, her touch has an eerie akin of someone I once knew…
Her touch so icy and her grip so tight…
I grabbed the nearest object and shattered the face of this strange girl..
Pieces flying every which way, some skidding across my skin,
Leaving nothing but beautiful red designs in their place..
Yet I stand there horrified as I realized the target of my aggression was nothing but a mirror
Hope
Shrouded by darkness, too close to the edgeReady to jump, so sick of everything,
Inching closer and closer, legs now dangling into nothingness.
But then I see it.
A small glimpse of light out of the corner of my eye,
So I turn.
There it is, a door.
Opening slowly, creaking from being unused for so long.
Light pours from the small crack, giving the slightest notion of hope,
But what lays beyond these doors are unknown.
Do I dare to venture out of misery, not knowing the risks?
The door creaks open just a sliver more, and a pair of familiar eyes peer through,
I enter.
